Domestic Violence - What you need to know about Domestic Violence and Abuse (Term 1 2025)

My domestic violence project focused on developing a deeper understanding of what domestic and family violence is and how it can affect families and individuals. I researched the different forms of control and manipulation, including the signs and behaviours that can indicate an unhealthy or abusive relationship. As part of the project, I created an informal website that brings information together in an accessible way, while also guiding how people can support themselves or someone who may be experiencing domestic violence. Through this project, I aimed to raise awareness, encourage understanding, and provide information that could help people recognise concerning behaviours and know where to seek support. 

Impacts of ongoing trauma in First Responders - A literature review (Term 2 2025)

My literature review explored the impacts of ongoing trauma in first responders, including paramedics, firefighters, police, and other emergency personnel who are regularly exposed to traumatic situations. I conducted a literature review using existing research to investigate how ongoing exposure to trauma can affect first responders and their emotional wellbeing, relationships, work, and everyday lives. Completing this project also allowed me to develop a new academic skill, as I had to learn how to structure research and write a literature review. This challenged me to analyse different sources, compare research findings, and develop a deeper understanding of the long-term impacts on first responder professions. 

Accessibility for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing across Australia and the UK (Term 3 2025)

My accessibility project explored the experiences of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing pople across Australia and the UK, focusing on the barriers they can face in everyday life. I researched accessibility in areas such as communication, public spcaes, landmarks, public transport ect.. A unique part of this project was that I completed most of my research about the UK while I was actually in the UK, allowing me to explore and understand accessibility within a different country and compare if with Australia. I presented my findings and information through a slideshow and video, aiming to raise awarenss about the importance of accessibility, inclusion and effective communication for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people.
