Domestic Violence - What you need to know about Domestic Violence and Abuse (Term 1 2025)
My domestic violence project focused on developing a deeper understanding of what domestic and family violence is and how it can affect families and individuals. I researched the different forms of control and manipulation, including the signs and behaviours that can indicate an unhealthy or abusive relationship. As part of the project, I created an informational website, while also guiding people on how they can support themselves or someone who may be experiencing domestic violence. Through this project, I aimed to raise awareness, encourage understanding, and provide information that could help people recognise concerning behaviours and know where to seek support.
Impacts of ongoing trauma in First Responders - A literature review (Term 2 2025)
My literature review explored the impacts of ongoing trauma in first responders, including paramedics, firefighters, police, and other emergency personnel who are regularly exposed to traumatic situations. I conducted a literature review using existing research to investigate how ongoing exposure to trauma can affect first responders and their emotional well-being, relationships, work, and everyday lives. Completing this project also allowed me to develop a new academic skill, as I had to learn how to structure research and write a literature review. This challenged me to analyse different sources, compare research findings, and develop a deeper understanding of the long-term impacts on first responder professions.
Accessibility for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing across Australia and the UK (Term 3 2025)
My accessibility project explored the experiences of Deaf and Hard of Hearing people across Australia and the UK, focusing on the barriers they can face in everyday life. I researched accessibility in areas such as communication, public spaces, landmarks, public transport, etc. A unique part of this project was that I completed most of my research about the UK while I was actually in the UK, allowing me to explore and understand accessibility within a different country and compare it with Australia. I presented my findings and information through a slideshow and video, aiming to raise awareness about the importance of accessibility, inclusion, and effective communication for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people.

The Deadly Impacts of Victorian Era Fashion (Term 3 2023)
My Victorian Era Fashion project focused on developing a deeper understanding of the hidden dangers behind clothing, beauty products, and fashion trends during the Victorian period. I researched the different ways fashion could impact people's health and safety, including the use of toxic chemicals, restrictive clothing, flammable fabrics, and unsafe working conditions. As part of the project, I created an exhibition that explored these risks while also showing how popular fashion trends could have serious and sometimes deadly consequences. Through this project, I aimed to look beyond the elegance of Victorian fashion and raise awareness of the dangerous realities that were often hidden behind its appearance. I showed this through a portfolio on hand and a touch-and-feel book.
Successful and Influential people with Autism (Term 4 2023)
My successful and influential people with autism project focused on developing a deeper understanding of what autism actually is and challenging some of the stereotypes surrounding autistic people. I researched autism, including how it can affect people differently and why being autistic does not make someone less capable or separate from society. As part of the project, I created a video where I interviewed people at school and asked them about well-known individuals such as Eminem, Elon Musk, and Greta Thunberg, before exploring their connections to autism. Through this project, I aimed to show that autistic people can be successful, influential, and achieve incredible things, while also encouraging people to look beyond labels and develop a better understanding of autism.
Hearing Loss - what is it? (Term 1 2024)
In my deafness exhibition, I wanted to give people a better understanding of what deafness is. I researched the different types of hearing loss, how the ear and hearing process work, and how audiograms are used to show a person's hearing levels. As part of the exhibition, I created a deafness simulator using a spelling test with noise-cancelling headphones to demonstrate how difficult communication can become when sound is unclear and inaccessible. I made the activity more challenging by turning away, mumbling, and changing the way I spoke so participants could experience how important visual information and clear communication can be. I also created a little test before and after the exhibition to see if the audience had any kind of knowledge about deafness and hearing loss; I wanted to compare data from one person to another. Through this project, I aimed to increase understanding of deafness and encourage more accessible and inclusive ways of communicating.
Fabergé Eggs and the Romanov Family (Term 2 2024)
For my Fabergé eggs and Romanov family project, I explored the history behind the famous Fabergé and the family they were closely connected to. I researched who the Romanov family were, their role in Russian history, and why Fabergé eggs became such important and valuable objects. I looked at how many eggs were lost and how many were found, how many are still lost and yet to be found, and I made graphs from the data I collected. I also examined the eggs' design, the materials used, and the detailed craftsmanship that made each one unique. As my final product, I decided to create my own version of a Fabergé egg, using what I had learned about their design and meaning throughout the project. Through this project, I developed a greater understanding of both the history of the Romanov family and the creativity and craftsmanship behind the Fabergé eggs.
Hospital In the Home - the costs and benefits of Hospital In The Home compared to Hospital Stay (Term 3 2024)
For my Hospital In The Home project, I wanted to understand what it can be like for someone who needs ongoing medical care and the difference between receiving care at home and staying in hospital for a long period of time. I researched the costs and benefits involved, and how both options can affect a person physically and emotionally. I was particularly interested in the impact long hospital stays can have on mental well-being, including feelings of isolation, stress, and losing a sense of normal routine. Through this project, I developed a better understanding of how receiving appropriate care at home can sometimes help people feel more comfortable, independent, and connected to their everyday life while still receiving the treatment they need. This project was very personal to me as I had been in Hospital In The Home and got the care I needed for 3 and a half months. I wanted to gain a better understanding of the effects of mental well-being of being at home while receiving the same care as you would at the hospital.
